Commissions

Pastoral Commission

The Pastoral Commission is primarily concerned with propagating and consolidating the faith in the Diocese. It operates under the following committees: Executive, Liturgical, Catechists, Biblical and Catechetical, Social Communication, Vocation and Missionary Animation

Education Commission

The Education Commission comprises of the following committees: Administration, Religious education, Inspectorate, Masaka Catholic Diocesan institutions and Teachers Association. These committees work under the leadership of the Diocesan Education Board of Directors for the promotion and maintenance of education standards throughout the Diocese. In each Parish, there is a Parish Education Committee working under the supervision of the Fr-in-charge of Schools.

Laity Commisssion

The Laity Commission deals with the work of the Laity in their church. The present activities of the laity commission arise from the long history of the Diocese as shaped by the vision of Bishop Kiwanuka, the first Diocesan Bishop, and the Diocesan Synods. Soon after his appointment he organized the laity and gave them a large participation in the church apostolate. In the same spirit the Diocesan synods continue ttee, Cto encourage and direct the laity in their apostolate as advocated for by the Second Vatican Council.

The Laity commission comprises of the following committees: Executive committee, Specialized lay apostolate movement committee, Women's association committee, Widows association committee, Masaka Diocesan youth organization committee (MADYO), Family apostolate commiatholic professionals association committee, Justice and Peace committee, Masaka Catholic workers' Movement committee (MACAWOMO) and the Men's association committee.

Financial Commission

The Financial Commission is charged with the fiscal planning, budgeting and supervision of accounts throughout the Diocese. It is made up of the Treasury, Land and Building Committees.

Social and Economic Development Commission

The main purpose of this commission is to ensure that the social and economic development of the Diocese keeps pace with the growing pastoral needs.
